Congratulations! - You are a midwife!
Hoshea son of Elah began to rule over Israel in the twelfth year of King Ahaz's reign in Judah. He reigned in Samaria nine years. 2 Kings 17:1
You have been saved to save others. A mid-wife's primary pre-occupation is to bring forth new life from the pregnant mother, wrap the baby in a cosy warm blanket, ensures the baby lives through the first and critical moments of life. The mid-wife goes on to check vital signs of life, the eyes, breathing etc and administers whatever is necessary to ensure sound health /sustenance throughout the life of the newborn.
You have been called to this noble profession of a mid-wife.
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 2 Corinthians 5:18
Hoshea; whose name means salvation, did not focus on what he was called to do, to live out his purpose.
God has given you His word, and assigned you as an agent of reconciliation.
that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!" 2 Corinthians 5:19-20
This is achievable as we prayerfully commit those around us, in our schools, places of work and community to God in prayer and follow His leading as we share the gospel of salvation.
Have a mindset of salvation.
There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
