Don’t Die
Then he (Elijah) traveled through the wilderness for a day. He sat down under a broom plant and wanted to die. "I've had enough now, LORD," he said. "Take my life! I'm no better than my ancestors." 1 Kings 19:4
It’s not worth it, don’t die.
While some are physically dead, some though living, are dead.
Helen Keller said: The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.
No matter your condition, there is hope.
When Jezebel the witch threatened Elijah with death his fear gave room to desolation, dejection and depression. He started encountering losses. He lost the use of an enabler and support for his mission, vision and destiny – his servant – in Beersheba, his speed of accomplishment was reduced, because his hand and knees – agents of internal and spiritual progress – had been weakened. May any pronouncement from any demonic agent against you be destroyed by fire today in Jesus name!
Note that discouragement scuttles accomplishment.
At this point, Elijah’s vision had been battered because of the situation he was in; he could no longer see and apply strength to accomplish what was still ahead of him.
I submit to you that if a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live. - Martin Luther King, Jr.
We will see later that God gave Elijah 3 assignments, but he performed only one before he was taken to heaven.
The widow of Nain was on the way to bury her son who was physically dead when she encountered Jesus. Her dead situation had an encounter with Jesus; the life of men and her dead situation came back to life. May you and any dead situation in your life, family and destiny encounter Jesus; may Jesus come your way today and bring back to life every dead situation in Jesus name! May the encounter you need come your way today in Jesus name!
In whatever way you have been discouraged; may God encourage you; may you meet with help and favor as you go on your ways. May deliverance and resurrection come your way, in Jesus mighty name! Amen! and Amen!! and Amen!!! in Jesus mighty name!! Amen!
The right hand of the LORD is exalted; The right hand of the LORD does valiantly. I will not die, but live, And tell of the works of the LORD. Psalm 118:16-17
