Zechariah: Defeating conspiracies and seasoned conspirators

The name Zechariah means 'the Lord remembers'. May the Lord remember you for good!

Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah. He attacked him in front of the people, assassinated him and succeeded him as king. 2 Kings 15:10

Facts about conspirators:
  1. Conspirators operate on inside information.
  2. They are usually close individuals you trust.
  3. They betray your trust.
  4. You need to discern them. Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people's business (2 Thessalonians 3:11); A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren (Proverbs 6:19). But you have an unction from the Holy One, and you know all things.(1 John 2:20).
  5. They whisper secretly hurt you behind your back and smile at you in public.
  6. They act out of envy with the aim of displacing you and taking your place - Shallum reigned in the palace in place of Zechariah after disgracing him in the open in front of people. The aim of conspirators is to disgrace you in front of the people. Those who tried it with Jesus failed. Those who try it with you shall fail. None of the rulers of this world understood it, because if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory (1 Corinthians 2:8).
  7. They reveal themselves after completing their act of betrayal, disgrace and unseating their target.
  8. Their aim is to unseat, displace and disgrace you. They will not achieve their purpose.
  9. Their everlasting shame and confusion shall not be forgotten.
 Defeating conspiracies:

1.Be sensitive to the promptings of the Spirit (But you have an unction from the Holy One, and you know all things - 1 John 2:20)
2.Don't ignore warnings from God and from people God sends to warn you - David was warned about Ahithophel (2 Samuel      15:31), Gadeliah the governor was warned by Johanan the son of Kareah. Gadeliah lost his life and position to conspirators by not      taking heed (Jeremiah 40:13 - 41:3). David regained his lost position by making declarations of what he wanted and not ignoring      warnings (And David said, O LORD, I pray you, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness - 2 Samuel 15:31)
  1. God will reveal their plans as you pray
  2. God will hear your prayers and frustrate their counsel. Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whoever shall gather together against you shall fall for your sake (Isaiah 54:15). Associate yourselves, O you people, and you shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all you of far countries: gird yourselves, and you shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and you shall be broken in pieces. Take counsel together, and it shall come to nothing; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us (Isaiah 8:9-10).
  3. Examine yourself and confess your sins asking for forgiveness for any wrong doing in the matter. Daniel's enemies could find no case against him. Live so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, (Philippians 2:15)

Pray:

  • That God will send an advocate to speak on your behalf. God sent Hushai in 2 Samuel 15:34 and 2 Samuel 17:14 to speak on David's behalf and defeat the counsel of the Ahitophel. "O, Lord, send an advocate on my behalf, speak on my behalf, O' Lord."
  • That God will minister to the king (the decision makers, the princes and the powers that be) to see the truth and cause them to favour you. God made the king have a sleepless night and favor Mordecai and thwarted the conspiracy and wicked plans of Haman. 'O' Lord, cause the 'king (name the decision maker) to favor me'.
  • That every Haman of your destiny will hang on their gallows. Whoever digs a pit will fall therein. "Every Haman of my life, family and destiny, will fall by their own wicked devices, in Jesus mighty name!"
  • That God will keep you and decorate you like He did to Mordecai. 'Lord, decorate me after the order of Mordecai, in Jesus name!
  • That your good works will speak for you. Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is an opponent may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. Titus 2:8. 'Lord order my speech, steps and actions in you, in Jesus mighty name, Amen and Amen!
Peace!
