Do you measure up?
Many times, we wonder, I am up to it? How am I doing? am I on the right track? Are my actions yielding the expected results? am I doing well with my spouse? my children? friends? how am I doing in school? on the job? in God's eyes? etc.
Self examination is good and you are encouraged to do it. The most important evaluation is where you stand with God. Your upward stance determines the effectiveness and productivity of your earthly relationships. The Bible states in 2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!
You were saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8). You will be sustained and kept by grace as you seek God daily in your walk with Him, so you are growing and advancing to the person God wants you to be.
This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ - Ephesians 4:13 (Emphasis mine)
However the grace that measures up does not sustain living, continuing in sin: Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer in it? (Romans 6:1-2). If you have fallen into any sin, ask for forgiveness and re-start walking with God, determined to never go back into that sin again.
Why? God's calling on your life and grace was to holiness and being blameless which assures seeing God, (Hebrews 12:14).
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love (Ephesians 1:4)
His grace and love measures you up to attain eternal life. Continue in Him till He comes.
Peace!
