Which God?
Sometimes we ask where is God in all this? Why is this happening, why won’t God answer this particular prayer? Things are good over here. Yes – He came through for me there and in that other situation. Can’t he or won’t he help me and deliver me in this situation? God is able to save, He is able to deliver.
To who or what do you turn in the low times? Where will your help come from? Where do you expect your help to come from? God does not like it when we do not seek Him for help or healing (Isaiah 43:22).
King Asa was a very good king, he loved God, walked with God, got rid of sinful things in his domain and established the worship of God through out the land and God was pleased with him. But when he was old, he had a disease in his feet but did not seek God for healing (2 Chronicles 16:12). Ahaziah did not seek God as well, and God did not like it, meaning God could have healed him, had he sought God in his sickness. (2 Kings 1:2-17).
Which God do you seek? Is He the savior of the whole world? Is He the one who can save you from sin and unrighteousness? Can He give you the Holy Spirit when you ask Him? Can He write your name in the book of life? Prevent you from going to hell and take you into heaven? Can He keep you till the end? Is your God the author of eternal salvation?
Jesus died once for your sins. If you believe that He died for you, that His blood will wash your sins away, take away the guilt and condemnation of sin, you can be saved from sin and death eternally.
Activities such as fasting, prayers, etc have no meaning and will yield no positive eternal results without having Jesus as Lord and savior of your life. It is like being in a moving car without a steering or an airplane without navigational equipment.
Activities; apart from asking God and man for forgiveness and washing in the blood of Jesus does not wipe away your record of sin and shame. Only the blood of Jesus can wipe away the record; if you accept that Jesus sacrificed Himself for you. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (Colossians 2:14)
Asking Jesus to be ‘my Lord and savior’ is the key. When you believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and you say it with your mouth, you will be saved, delivered from the wrath and punishment to come (Romans 10:9-10, 13).
God writes your name in the book of life. God gives you in that moment the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives you the power to live above sin and gives you peace. The Holy Spirit works love, joy, goodness, gentleness, meekness, faith and patience in you as you walk with Him.
Have you declared Jesus as your Lord and savior? If you are yet to do so, please pray the prayers below:
Father, I come to you today, have mercy on me, I cannot save myself, I confess my sins (confess as many as you can remember), please forgive my sins; wash me clean with the blood of Jesus. Write my name in the book of life. Give me your Holy Spirit, save my soul and keep me till life everlasting; in Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
If you have just prayed that prayer we would love to hear from you. Please contact us:
