The King Who is Reigning
Prayers 1. Father, reign in my life, family, and destiny in the name of Jesus. 2. Lord, deliver me from every difficult situation in the name of Jesus.
It is my prayer that: The Lord of Hosts, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Man of war, will always fight your battles and give you victory now and always in Jesus mighty name. The victory that only God can give will be yours now and always in Jesus’ name.
Text: Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. This scripture has profound (deep, insightful) implications, some of which are: · God the Father gave His only divine begotten Son a name. · That name (Jesus) is above every other name (devil, witches, wizard, wicked, lack, failure, addiction, sickness etc.).
· Every other name should and must bow (submit, pay attention, leave what they are doing and pay obeisance) to the name of Jesus, the Son of God. · The location, positioning, seeming prowess of those powers notwithstanding. · It does not matter if those other powers are heavenly powers (inclusive of principalities, powers in heavenly places, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness). · It does not matter if those other powers are earthly powers (transcended wickedness from the heavenly planes to the earthly plane). · It does not matter if those powers are under the earth or in the seas, in the bottomless pit or be they marine powers or those dwelling under the root of trees etc. · Every tongue must confess (will confess, willingly or unwillingly) that Jesus Christ is Lord. Some will confess (declare it) now, some will have to declare it at the white throne judgement (revelation 20:11-15) when it is too late (Matthew 25:38-46). · The exaltation of Jesus, the confession of His Lordship and everything being subjected to Him will be to the glory of God the Father, that God may be glorified in all things.
The King Who is Reigning Why this topic? · Some think because of the steaming disorder on the surface of the earth that God is not reigning or no longer reigning. Some ask questions like: · Why does evil appear to be surpassing good? · Why is a good person a prey? · Why is injustice reigning? · Can God still give me justice? The Bible states in Deuteronomy 32:3-4 that: For I will proclaim the name of the LORD; ascribe greatness to our God! He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. Note that our God reigns! · God reigns among the princes (Psalm 82:1) · At the latter day He will reign as King of kings and Lord of lords (Zechariah 14:4, Revelation 1:7-8, 12-18) · In the in-between he is reigning as Lord · As many as allow Him, He is their Lord and reigns in their lives and situations. The Bible states in Acts 4:11-12, that: This Jesus is the STONE WHICH WAS DESPISED and REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE. And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].”
· The wicked and the devil is prevented from reigning or having a field day in the lives, homes, families, careers, businesses, health and finances of those who belong to God. God not only shields you, but Jesus is here and came to destroy the works of the devil concerning you. The Bible states in 1 John 3:8 that: He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. · If you belong to God, are a child of God by being born again; you are sure of victory at last. And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death. (Revelation 12:11) Song: When we get to heaven at the marriage supper All the saints shall gather, at the last assembly No more crying, no more wailing Farewell to sorrow Victory at last (x6) Farewell to sorrow Victory at last.
The painful slippery plastic experience: I went to the nearby waste and recycling facility and had an experience that was impressed on my heart to share. At the landfill, after throwing items into the recycling and garbage bins, I stepped forward unknown to me that I stepped on a plastic wrap on the slippery snowy ground. I slipped and almost fell. In the reflex, by God's grace I quickly stretched my hands to the metal pole to the left. In the suddenness of the action my left small finger hit the pole with so much force that I was left with pain in my finger. That action stabilized me and prevented a fall. But I thanked God that: · I did not fall down and hit my head on the ground, or the nearby concrete barriers or metal. · I did not fall to break bones in my hand, back or other parts of the body. Sometimes the pain we feel is the pain on our fingers. · It could have been much worse but for God watching over you, shielding you and making a way for you. It was William Shakespeare that stated that: ”It is not the worst if we can still say: this is the worst.” · Like Job whether you see it or not, whether you know it or not God is working on your behalf and in your favour. 8“Look, I go forward, but He is not there, It is only what you see and know that you may use in your assessment and consideration of the goodness of God. How about the ones you don't see or know about? It is of God’s mercies that you have not been consumed because His compassion does not fail. We are granted travelling mercies, provision, shelter, clothing, health etc. Jeremiah said in Lamentations 3, that: 22It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
Jesus is working and continues to work on your behalf because He is reigning, will continue to reign. Sing this song along with me: Come what may, Jesus shall reign (x2) Jesus shall reign all over the world Jesus shall reign all over my situation Come what may, Jesus shall reign
Jesus shall reign over your life, your situations, and our nations in Jesus’ name.
Note that the Reigning King, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). · As He did miracles in the past, so He is doing today. · If He healed the blind and the lame in the past so He is doing today. · As He made the dead to rise so He is doing today. · As He made the madman of Gadara to be well, so He is doing today. Whatever you want Jesus to do in your life, He has done it before, and He will do it again. Even if He has never done it before He can and will do it for you if you ask in faith. He said in John 14:14 that if you ask anything in my name, I will do it. He will do it for you in Jesus mighty name
How do you allow the King Who is reigning to reign in your life?
1. Make Him Lord of your life by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. 2. Be humble. The humility of Jesus led to His lifting. Don’t be proud as pride goes before a fall and God Himself resists (opposes, works against, hinders) a proud person. (James 4:6)
3. Read and study your Bible (2 Timothy 2:15).
4. Let the Holy Spirit be your guide (Romans 8:14)
5. Be prayerful with fasting (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; Matthew 6:16-18).
