The King of Love – The Kingdom of God
Prayers 1. Father do not let me miss your kingdom in Jesus name. 2. I will be a partaker of the fullness of the Kingdom of God in Jesus mighty name.
Text: Romans 14:17-18 17For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. (KJV) 17for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. (NASB) We have already gone over the concepts of King of Love – Joy, Peace and Righteousness (refer to previous week’s messages), today we will be examining The King of Love – the Kingdom of God. The love of God through Jesus Christ not only grants believers the opportunity to enter into righteousness, peace, joy; but also to be a member of the Kingdom of God and enjoy the benefits of being a member of the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is supreme above all. The Bible states in Psalm 103:19 that : The LORD has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all. What is the nature of the Kingdom of God? 1. The kingdom of God is within you: You need to have it in you now to be partaker of it in the world to come. The Kingdom of God has a present continuing aspect and a future eternal aspect. You need to be a part of the present continuing Kingdom of God to be part of the eternal Kingdom of God. If a person is a child of the devil here (John 8:44), the child of the devil cannot suddenly become a child of the eternal Kingdom of God unless the person was saved and became born again before death. For believer’s who have Jesus as their Lord and savior, the kingdom of God is within them as stated in Luke 17: 20Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” May the Kingdom of God, the rulership of God always be in you in Jesus name. 2. Righteousness, peace and joy are all embodied in Jesus Christ. If you have Jesus, you have everything. If you don't have Jesus, you have nothing, and such is not a partaker of eternal life. A person without Jesus as Lord and Savior is not a citizen of heaven, the citizenship register would not have the name of such a person as it only lists believers as valid citizens (Philippians 3:20-21, Revelation 20:11-15). In fact, it is not just that a person without Kingdom of God has nothing, has no inheritance in heaven, unfortunately, such an individual is registered as a citizen of hell, would be expected in hell, has a portion and accommodation in hell and would be a partaker of eternal punishment in hell and the lake of fire. You will not go to hell and the lake of fire in Jesus name. Your name will not be removed from the register of heaven’s citizens in Jesus name.
3. The kingdom of God involves enforcing God’s authority here on earth by casting out demons, binding the strongman, and recovering everything the devil has stolen. In Matthew 12, the Bible states: 27And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. 28But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. The grace to cast out demons, bind, disgrace the strongman and recover your goods will always be upon your life in Jesus name.
4. The Kingdom of God requires proclamation through preaching and declaration. This brings about salvation and joy. In Acts 8, the Bible states: 4Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. 5Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. 6And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. 8And there was great joy in that city. 9But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 10To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. 11And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. 12But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. Also in Acts 28:23 So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul’s lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening. Receive the grace to proclaim the kingdom, preaching and saving souls in Jesus name.
5. The kingdom of God is a mystery that is understood by revelation which is granted to believers, and through listening and meditating on the word of God. In Luke 8:10, the Bible says: And He said, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest they are told in parables, so that while seeing they may not see, and while hearing they may not understand. May you understand the mysteries of the kingdom and be able to apply the principles of the Kingdom of God as and when needed in Jesus name.
6. A person must become born again to enter the Kingdom of God, as stated by Jesus Christ in John 3:3-5 ” 3Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” 5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. The grace to become born again and be saved to the uttermost will come upon as many as are yet to be saved in Jesus name.
7. Believer’s will go through persecution and suffering to enter into the Kingdom of God. So do not consider it a strange thing if you suffer persecution because of the Kingdom of God. The Bible states in 2 Thessalonians 1: 4That is why we boast among God’s churches about your perseverance and faith in the face of all the persecution and affliction you are enduring. 5All this is clear evidence of God’s righteous judgment. And so you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. Also in Acts 14: 21And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, 22Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Receive the grace to go through any tribulation that may come your way in Jesus name. May you be granted entrance into the eternal kingdom of God in Jesus mighty name.
8. We wait for the eternal kingdom of God. The Bible states in Mark 15:43 - 43Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent Council member who himself was waiting for the kingdom of God, boldly went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus. Additionally, in Luke 22:18, Jesus stated that the Kingdom of God is coming in the future: The Last Supper May the grace to wait for the eternal kingdom be upon your life and preserve you in God till the end in Jesus name. 9. We need to do the will of God to enter into the Kingdom of God. In Matthew 21:31 31Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you. The grace to do the will of God will be upon your life in Jesus mighty name.
What do you need to do to enter and remain a citizen in the Kingdom of God? 1. Be born again (John 3:3-5) 2. Read your Bible – the constitution of the Kingdom of God - to know about the Kingdom of God and your rights as a citizen of the Kingdom. It also tells you about the do’s and don’ts. 3. Study your Bible to show yourself approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15) 4. Pray everyday, in fact the Bible says you should pray all the time (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) 5. Fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:25, 1 John 1:3-6) 6. Enforce your kingdom rights by preventing Satan from stealing from you. Bind the devil, his demons, cast out demons, recover what the enemy has stolen (Mark 16:15-20, Luke 10:19, Luke 11:21-22) 7. Abide in God till the end (John 15:4-5) Pray: My Father, My Father, I scatter every power and plan of the enemy to take me away from the kingdom of God in the name of Jesus.
