Who is a king?
The oxford dictionary defines a king as ruler, sovereign, monarch, supreme ruler, crowned head, majesty, Crown, head of state, royal personage, emperor, prince, potentate, overlord, liege lord, lord, leader and chief. A person or thing regarded as the finest or most important in their sphere or group.
Here we are also talking about the King of the earth, King of heaven, the King of kings and Lord of Lords.
Psalm 47:6-7 6Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! 7For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12: Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.
What is Glory?
Glory is defined as shining beauty. Synonyms include: magnificence, splendor, resplendence, grandeur, majesty, greatness, impressiveness, gloriousness, nobility, pomp, stateliness, sumptuousness, opulence, beauty, elegance, brilliance, gorgeousness, splendidness, wonder, delight, wonderful thing, glorious thing, marvel, phenomenon, sight and spectacle.
What is a Territory?
Territory is defined as a realm, sphere, or domain.
The King of glory’s territory therefore is the entirety of heaven and earth.
Psalm 24: 7 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. 9Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 10Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory
What are the implications of abiding in God’s territory, under God’s governance?
1. The earth is the Lord’s and its fullness thereof: Psalm 24: 1The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. 2For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters.
2. The king has a domain – where the king has total authority, his word is law, must be obeyed at the penalty of loss or death, or banishment.
3. Silver and gold in His territory is His. Wealth is His, it belongs to Him, in fact he created it and gives it to who He wants.
Haggai 2:8 ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts.
As you abide in God’s territory by being born again, belonging to Him, God will grant you wealth in Jesus name.
The land God gives is a land flowing with milk and honey
Ezekiel 20:6 On that day I raised My hand in an oath to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, ‘flowing with milk and honey,’ the glory of all lands.
May God give you a spacious land flowing with milk and honey in Jesus name.
4. In His territory God lays up gold as dust for His own. Job 22: 23If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; You will remove iniquity far from your tents.24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
May God make a way for you to lay up gold and wealth as dust in Jesus name. Men do not labor to bring dust. When you wipe surfaces clean, dust automatically returns there without labor. May God make a way for you to have wealth always laid out for you always in Jesus name.
5. Health: In God’s territory, in His domain, He gives sound health.
Exodus 23:25 “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
Exodus 15:26 saying, "If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His eyes, and pay attention to His commands, and keep all His statutes, then I will not bring on you any of the diseases I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you."
There shall be none barren in your land or have abortion. You will not be barren or unfruitful in good things. Your good purposes will not be aborted. You will enjoy sound health in Jesus name. You will serve the Lord your God and He will take sickness away from you.
Sickness will be taken away from you in Jesus name, because He is the Lord who heals you.
6. Peace: Peace is not the absence of problems, but calm, assurance, and confidence that leads to resounding victory in spite of problems, challenges, spite, hatred, wars and battles. Since problems are no respecter of persons, only God can grant peace in these troubled times. This is why it is so important to dwell in His territory to abide in His peace.
2 Thessalonians 3:16: Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
Only God can give you peace at all times, in every way, in every circumstance.
I pray that our God, the Lord of peace, who brings peace, give you peace in every way, by all means, at all times and in every circumstance in Jesus name.
7. Abiding in God’s territory provides assurance of joy. Fullness of joy is available in God’s presence
Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Fullness of joy will be your portion in Jesus name.
However, some dwell in the King’s territory but refuse to abide by his rules which make them offenders. The King however is merciful and is giving them a long rope to change their ways because he is a merciful Lord. He could have immediately banished them, sentenced them to everlasting jail, cut them off from the land of the living etc. These people live and enjoy the benefits obtainable in the Kings’ domain. We will see more about the mercy of the King of Glory next week.
What Should I Do to Dwell in the Kings Territory?
The Bible states the requirements in Psalm 24: 3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. 5He shall receive blessing from the Lord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face.
