Going Forward – Part 2 – The Just

Proverbs 4:18

The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. (NIV)

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. (KJV)

Prayer

1.     Grace to please God in all my ways, come upon my life in Jesus name.

2.     Besetting sins break away from my life and die in Jesus name.

3.     I arise into newness of life in Christ in Jesus name.

4.     I will be a good example of a believer in Jesus name.

5.     Addictions break away from my life in Jesus name.

It is the just that will shine. So who is the just? What does Just means?

Just is an adjective which refers to a life based on or behaving according to what is morally right and fair. Honorable, upright, upstanding, decent, honest, righteous, ethical, moral, virtuous, principled, good, right-minded, straight, reasonable, trustworthy, incorruptible, truthful and sincere.

After being made just, and you are now as if you have never sinned before God - just as if you never sinned, as if your old unrighteous life never happened. You are now by Gods help expected and able to live the new life.

Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous (1 John 3:7).

Be not deceived, he who is righteous should do righteous acts. He who does righteousness is righteous even as He (Jesus) is righteous.

Righteousness is a gift (Roman's 5:17). The gift should not be misused or wasted or abused.

Declare: Divine enablement to live a righteous life, come upon my life in the name of Jesus.

The divine enablement to live a just and righteous life will come upon you in Jesus name.

It is written but He giveth more grace. God will grant you the grace to live the life of the just in Jesus name.

James 4:6 - But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

Cornelius was a just man (Acts 10:2, 22), Noah was righteous (Genesis 6:9).  A just man, woman or person is one who has been made righteous.  You do not and cannot make yourself righteous. You are made righteous.  It is conferred on you. Just like a honorary doctorate degree.  A just person is a righteous person.

So how do I become just?

1.     By accepting the sacrifice of Jesus’ death for you. That He died in your place for your sins. Hence your sins have been wiped away, your slate is wiped clean when you confess your sins and ask Jesus to be your Lord and savior. Your old sinful way of life has lost and loses its grips on your thoughts words and actions.

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.

2.     Accept the gift of righteousness and justification: 15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many! 16 Again, the gift is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment that followed one sin brought condemnation, but the gift that followed many trespasses brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive an abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! 18 So then, just as one trespass brought condemnation for all men, so also one act of righteousness brought justification and life for all men. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

3.     A new life of righteousness and holiness begins in Christ – in  2 Cor 5:17-18 the Bible says: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

4.     Through faith: 1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. (Romans 5:1-2)

The just shall live by faith:

Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. (Habakkuk 2:4), Also see Romans 1:17. Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38.

5.     Through the blood of Jesus: 9 Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him! 10For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! 11Not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. (Romans 5:9-11)

Benefits of being Just

1.     The just will shine: Proverbs 4:18 - But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. (KJV)

2.     The just person’s children are blessed: Proverbs 20:7 - The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.

3.     The Lord is just - Zephaniah 3:5 - The just LORD is in her midst; He will not act unrighteously. Every morning He brings His judgment to the light; He fails not; but the unrighteous knows no shame.

When you are just, the Just Lord will always be on your side to help you.

I pray the Just Lord will justify you, help you vindicate you and support you always in Jesus name.

4.     The just for the unjust:  1 Peter 3:18 - For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

The just is delivered from trouble and the unrighteous takes his or her place: Proverbs 11:8 - The righteous is delivered from trouble, and the wicked walks into it instead.

5.     The Just may be laughed to scorn but his end will be great, as the shining light (Proverbs 4:18)

Yet my friends laugh at me, for I call on God and expect an answer. I am a just and blameless man, yet they laugh at me. (Job 12:4),

Psalm 112:4 - Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
