I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  - Galatians 2:20

King Ahaziah – Which God?

Many times in our lives situations confront us that questions where is your God? How are you going to get out of this issue? Which God can and will deliver you?

One individual established by God, promoted by God, provided for by God, despised God when he needed healing, but sought after idols. God was not pleased with this act of unbelief. He was in other words saying there is no God in Israel. The Psalmist in Psalm 53:1 opined that only a fool says there is no God. Ahaziah became a fool by despising God and died in his sickness. May you not be a fool by not seeking God and annoy God at the same time. (1 Kings 22:51-53, 2 Kings 1:1-8, 15-18)

According to Hebrews 9:27, every one on the surface of the earth will someday die and face judgement from God, hence the need to be ready.

Are you ready?

If you happen to live very, very long, or if Jesus comes now for his own, will you go to heaven with Him? We will all stand before God in Judgement, are you ready? May you not despise the king who is going to judge you. (2 Peter 3:17-18, 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3,9)

King Jehoram – Consistent Examination?

Jehoram took over kingship from his wicked father Ahab. He did many good things including destroying the pillar of Baal for idolatrous worship that Ahab his father has made. However, he did not destroy the long standing evil tradition of worshipping the idols set up in Dan and Bethel by Jeroboam. It is good to do good things, but you need not stop there, consistent self examination is useful to attain heights you need to get to. (2 Kings 3: 1-3)

Consider Spencer West who climbed Mt. Kilmanaro without legs. He had two arms and the support of friends. Nik Walenda crossed the Niagara falls walking on a tight rope from the United States into Canada.

Major events in his reign
Victory in war against Moab: 2 Kings 3: 4-27

God spoke. Water was  supplied: 2 Kings 3:16-20

Healing of Naaman: 2 Kings 5

Syrian war plans revealed : 2 Kings 6:8-12

Victory without war: 2 Kings 6:13-23

  Famine turned to abundance: 2 Kings 6:24 – 2 Kings 7

Conclusion
God shows us his mercy, however, we should not take His mercies for granted. Living a life of consistent self examination will ensure we do not fall short of the eternal home and attain the greatest benefit of all - eternal life.

Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

King Jehoram – Which Path?

In life, you are always faced with choices. Which path should I follow? The way of righteousness or the way of evil? The decisions are based on which is easier or more painful, the rewards - money, fame, promotion, pleasure etc. Each path leads to different destinations on both the earthly and heavenly planes.

Jehoram, son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah chose the way of evil, based on influences from his wife. His wife was the daughter of Jezebel, a legendary personality in idol worship, witchcraft, murder, evil set-ups and the like. Jehoram, amongst other evil, killed all his brothers after he became king. He received a letter from God's prophet advising him of God's judgement. God struck him and his household with incurable diseases and raised opposition against him and his domain - Judah, because he chose the wrong path (2 Chronicles 21). The path we choose has significant consequences on our future. May you choose the right path always in Jesus name!

This is what the LORD says: Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask which paths are the old, reliable paths. Ask which way leads to blessings. Live that way, and find a resting place for yourselves. But you said that you wouldn't live that way.                                                                                                                                    - Jeremiah 6:16
