January 2016 MessagesMy Year of Greatness! (Highlights) January 4, 2016 This is a special year that God has ordained to make you great. He made Abraham great (Genesis 24:34-35), made his son Isaac greater (Genesis 26:12-14), made the grandchild Jacob exceedingly great (Genesis 30:43). Get set for the goodness and mercy of God in this year, follow him and let God perfect all that concerns you this year. Keep on pressing towards your God ordained goals, here are some quotes to encourage you: • "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. ~ Calvin Coolidge • "Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." ~ Dale Carnegie - In this season, may there be a realization of long awaited promises, dreams and aspirations in Jesus name! • "When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on." ~ Thomas Jefferson • "Never, never, never give up!" ~ Winston Churchill but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. My Year of Greatness – Part 2 Jan 11, 2016 Genesis 12:10-20 describes a time of famine and how God turned a state of famine to abundance for Abraham. Famine represents extreme lack of joy, peace, health, finances, progress, accomplishments, promotion etc. May famine end completely in your life, family and destiny in Jesus name. We can learn a few things from the story: 1. God’s original plan is there should be no famine • 4"However, there will be no poor among you, since the LORD will surely bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess, 5 if only you listen obediently to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all this commandment which I am commanding you today.… (Deuteronomy 15) 2. There will always be famine • Jesus said: You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me." • There is personal famine (social, knowledge, wisdom, losses due to lack of preparation); and environmental famine. • Disobedience, i.e. sin is the major cause. • You can avoid famine, God can warn and protect you from famine, even the famine of protection (2 Kings 8) • God can restore everything you have lost in previous famine encounters; cause you to ride over famine. • Are you currently going through a famine? Fasting and prayer may be required to forcefully break famine coupled with a declaration of God’s word 1 Kings 17-18. • As you align yourself totally obeying God with the whole of your spirit, soul and body, I pray your season of famine will passover and give way to a season of joy and abundance, no more loneliness in Jesus name! 3. God controls times and seasons • "I also withheld rain from you when the harvest was still three months away. I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another. One field had rain; another had none and dried up. (NIV) · "I kept the rain from falling when your crops needed it the most. I sent rain on one town but withheld it from another. Rain fell on one field, while another field withered away. (NLT) • There will be famine for those who are not on the Lord’s side. • You can escape and you will escape as you follow and remain obedient to God. • Some of the prophecies are conditional. • Don’t join them in negative statements and confessions – You shall have what you say. Mark 11:23-24, Job 36:11 4. If you are experiencing a famine, get back to God’s original plan through obedience. • Let God appear to you, he will direct you, lead you out, make a way for you and end your famine in Jesus name. • 2And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell you of: • Also see Psalm 15, Psalm 24 No matter what is happening around, God can divinely lift you: • I will make you a great nation, I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. (Genesis 12:2) This promise was fulfilled in Abraham’s life, may good declarations and promises be fulfilled in your life, family and destiny in Jesus name. Famine will come to an end now in Jesus name. Prayers • Give thanks • Are you saved? January 24, 2016 • Epiphany in Russia wash in winter in the cold to wash away Sin. 2 million jump in to a Moscow river and trust that the cleansing from the river washes away their sin. • People die when good people do nothing or worse do wrong or bad things. A woman saw a homeless hitchhiker lying down by the side of the road stopped to help, called the police, the police allowed him stay in the police station out of the cold for the night. Go and do likewise. • Since they did not know the righteousness of God and ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God while they try to establish their own, and they have not submitted to God's means to attain righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 10:3-4 • Righteousness exalts a nation, a people, a person and sin guarantees failure, reproach, shame etc. Righteousness gives you your boarding pass, a guarantee of supernatural lifting. Your flight ticket is not enough to guarantee flight…a boarding pass is. Righteousness is your lifter. Right standing with God quickens, hastens your speed of ascent. Your way out of shame, stagnancy, failure and reproach is the way of righteousness. Your attainment of righteousness is your laying hold of a confirmed seat and delivery of that boarding pass of exaltation into your hand. That is why the Bible states in Proverbs 14:34 that: Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Don’t pursue righteousness the wrong way: 30What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. (Romans 9) How do you attain righteousness? • By Believing, it comes by faith. We have already touched on righteousness being a gift which should be accepted and applied (Romans 5:17). For righteousness to be useful we must believe that the righteousness of Jesus is available and sufficient for us to be totally acceptable to God. In Romans 10:10, the path is that man believes unto righteousness, and then confesses the same that Jesus died and took away your sins. • Attaining righteousness is not by your works, in Isaiah 64:6 our works to please God and self-attain righteousness is described as filthy rags before God. What you have done, can do or are doing by your self will amounts to nothing/zero outside of Christ; (man in his best state is altogether vanity - Psalm 39:5) but righteousness comes by submitting to Jesus Christ, accepting Him as your Lord and savior and walking in His footsteps as the Holy Spirit guides you. • Pastor John Burke (Gateway Church, Austin Texas) describes the relationship along the lines of: Who would like to live in a way that you are not afraid, confident that God is with you and will be there for you as you take decisions and navigate your way through life? Would you like to have God as a friend, partner, confidant, encourager, and strengthener etc. Righteousness grants and sustains the relationship. • The Bible states in Proverbs 11:19 that He who is steadfast in righteousness will attain to life, And he who pursues evil will bring about his own death. Mr. Elihu further states in relation to the mercy of God that : We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty; but even though he is just and righteous, he does not destroy us. (Job 37:23) The way of attaining righteousness therefore is ensuring that Your righteousness is demonstrated by acceptance of Christ’s righteousness through faith; walking in that righteousness in a growing relationship with God through obedience to His word and the Holy Spirit. Thereby the scripture will be fulfilled which says that He who does righteousness is righteous even as He is righteous (1 John 3:7). For example a righteous man hates lying (Proverbs 13:5); if a ‘righteous’ person loves, makes and rejoices in lying, the righteousness and therefore faithfulness is in serious question. Remember:
• Now, the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Romans 15:13) and Three things will last forever--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13). Prayer • Give thanks. • Are you saved? If not please pray the prayers on the Life page before continuing the prayers • Father, I accept the gift of righteousness from Jesus • Lord, enable me by your spirit to remain righteous till you come • I will not miss heaven in Jesus name • Personal prayer points. |
